Johan van Giessen is a master carpenter with 25 years of experience based in Livingston MT. He worked for many years in Chicago where he rehabbed condos, town houses, and small and large single family homes. 

My Story

I was born in small village in the Netherlands, and my father was a bricklayer. I moved to the US after serving in the Royal Netherlands Army, NATO forces. I met the love of my life and we began an adventure in Chicago where I started my business and renovated our home. Since 2011, my wife and I (and our dogs) have vacationed in Montana every year, enjoying the hiking and people. Finally, in 2018 we bought a house in Livingston and undertook to renovate it. We did not plan on doing it during a pandemic but that is what happened.

Over the years, I have rehabbed entire houses, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and family rooms. I have also built decks, pergolas, and all manner of outdoor spaces. I once built an indoor climbing wall. Projects I have worked on have been featured in several magazines, including Luxe Interiors + Design.  

I enjoy working with designers and with clients directly on projects. I live quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, problem solving, and devotion to my clients' schedules. The most successful renovation projects are started and completed on time, functional, and enhance your life.
